Abstract. Among tested ash extracts, the highest percentage of water during 5 hours drying saved extracts which were done with 3 M HNO3. Phytotoxic effect on cauliflower leaves was found in application of 5% solutions of this extracts in foliar nutrition. The effect of 2.5% solutions of extracts on yield was differentiated. The positive effect on cauliflower yield was found in application of 3 M HNO3 and 20% of citric and acetic acids extracts.

Usefulness of brown coal ash extracts to foliar nutrition
of cauliflower

Summary

For the extraction of nutrients from the ash of brown coal the distillated water (control) and 3 M nitric acid and 20% citric, acetic, tartaric, ascorbic and versenic acids were used. This extracts in concentration up to 5% were tested to estimate the keeping of moisture during 5 hours drying and phytotoxicity on cauliflower plants in 3 times repeated foliar nutrition. Also, the effect of 2.5% solution extracts with or no addition of 0.25% emulsyfied oil Atpol on cauliflower yield was tested. The positive effect on cauliflower yield was found in application of 3M HNO3 and 20% citric and acetic acids extracts.
